I've been bored...VERY BORED
I even resulted in taking those questions in the bulletin board in Friendster to be entertained!
We were suppose to expect a guest today; but he's not coming till tomorrow. It's one of my dad's cousin. You know, the family's so huge that I don't even remember who they are, which side of the family the belong to and where they live! Dad's relatives are spread out to China, Hong Kong, Taiwan (typical China people) and England while mom's is spread out to Australia, New Zealand and there's one cousin of hers working in Arab.
I really, really dislike having family reunions. Bleh...
As I was saying; we were suppose to expect a guest. He's from Taiwan and was supposed to dine with us tonight. We waited for dad to come home from his work in Perak so that we could go and have that dinner with first aunt, third aunt, fourth uncle and him, BUT SOMEONE didn't call and inform us that it's getting late! We ended up having dinner on our own. Rest assured, we're gonna meet him tomorrow and I'm not going to enjoy one bit of it.
Not only do I have to idle away my holiday by not doing anything and being bored but I have to spend with a guy who disappeared for 20 years and suddenly decides to visit! GEEZ!
After dinner, I spent some time alone sitting under the stars. It's good to have a side yard sometimes. I could lay on the grass but mom would have have my ass for it.
It was nice; sitting alone under the dark sky and listening to my MP3. Set it to 'shuffle' and the songs were synchronized with how I was feeling at the time, picking out songs that matched my emotions; like it knew what I needed. Another reason to love it.
The earphones are still plugged into my ears, and it's still generating songs that matches my mood.
Now, I'll just go and lay on the floor of my room or on my bed and stare out the window and listen to a machine play out my emotions.
Ps: Hurt my left leg while playing DDR yesterday. The muscle hurts every time I try to get up from sitting or jumping. ARGHHHHH!

Birthday or what?
Well, I turned 17 yesterday. Nothing happened...Not that I expect anything to happen.
The day was like normal. I went for my add math tuition at 11 in the morning instead of the usual time of 4.30.
I spent the whole day answering posts and texting with Jon, Cassie, Chris and Sapphira.
Dinner was at Bavarian Bierhaus (it's beer house in German) and the food was great. Though I didn't take any pictures cause it'll spark the curiosity of my parents.
Mom got me a perfume from The Body Shop. It smells fruity; I like fruity!
Now, there's a watch and a phone coming sometime soon...
Dad got us (mom, bro and me) a pendrive each; mom's 8 GB while ours are 4 GB each. That's great. Now I can try to reformat my computer and hope that CABAL will run smoother. But I'll go M.I.A for a long while; till SPM is over to be exact.
The cake was a tiramisu. There's still some left from yesterday and it's all mine. XD
Anyways, I'm looking for Marie Digby's Say It Again and Steven Curtis Chapman's Cinderella.
It's kind of a tribute to Maria's (his youngest adopted daughter from China) unfortunate death on 21st May 2008; just last week. She was knocked down by her eldest brother Caleb driving an SUV. It's sad, you know. Tears welled up when I was listening to this song; it still is. Having me tearing up is not something easy.
Mom's making chocolates today, and I'll go help. Ta~

Photoshop Fun
Thank you Jess for borrowing me her photoshop disc!
I installed it in the evening yesterday after dad's movie marathon. We watched Forbidden Kingdom; then bro and dad watched 10000 B.C and later we (sis, mom and me) rejoined them to watch National Treasure 2.
So when we came home after dinner, dad went to watch his Korean drama.
Speaking of Korean drama, I was the first one in the family to start watching it. The first was Dae Jang Geum; the palace maid who became the first female Royal Physician. The post was originally held by a man. Why did ancient people stick with the idea that women can't be as good as them? Stupid male supremacy. Bleh...
Oops, I've gone off topic.
Dad was watching his drama; I don't know what mom was doing; sis was playing with her dolls and bro was doing something with his computer, blogging perhaps. I fiddled around with my new toy, photoshop. *giggles like a schoolgirl*
Wait...I am a schoolgirl. *facepalm*
I found the tutorial for image making in VK Scans. Kudos to igotangsinmypants for giving me such a easy to understand tutorial.
With your tutorial, I've managed to do this.
My first try was to create a signature. I made one with using Lain from Serial Experimental Lain instead.
I know it isn't that good. It was my first and I took 30 minutes to get it like this. I've got the whole two weeks to improve myself on this!
This was my third one in three hours. I don't know how I got the effect like this, I seriously don't remember. It looks like an oil painting to me.
This (bottom) is supposed to turn out like those vintage photos that turned yellow. I got a yellow and faded effect instead. (o.O)
It was the last one I did before getting to bed.
By that time, it was already 4 a.m in the morning. XD
Alright. My connection is getting really laggy! I'm tired of it and shall make more polaroids and signatures before Physics class today! Wheeeee~

American Idol
Yeah...It was out yesterday for the Americans but today for us at the other side of the Prime Meridian.
And the winner is...
David Cook!
He has the bad boy looks that I love and the talent to make anyone jealous!
I mean, look at him! He's so...so... *mind suddenly blanks out*
I'm so gonna buy the first album he releases! (I don't usually buy music cds, I just download them online; but this is an exception.)
I hope that he's as successful as Chris Daughtry; another fellow rocker who made it big even though he didn't win American Idol.
The finale was really nice this year; more entertaining than last season's. I love the part when the two Davids met that Guru Pitka, who is played by funny man Mike Myers.
And then there was this music clip of Gladys Knight singing and guess who was doing the dancing?
I'll give you a clue then (if you didn't watch American Idol).
The clues are the movies they starred in:
- Night at the Museum
- The School of Rock
- Iron Man
It was Ben Stiller, Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr. dancing (and doing weird antics)!
All three of them will be in a movie called Tropic Thunder where Rob will be playing a black-american with a really ridiculous afro. I bet no one will recognize him.
(Bro says he grows more handsome the older he gets; and I think he's right o_O)
This sucks, seriously.
Well then, I'm off to Cabal for a while before heading to bed. Ta!

The Continuation of Exam Hell
Speaking of Chemistry, I should really be laughing at myself for what I did during paper III. For the last section, Section C, we were required to plan an experiment.
The question required us to plan two experiments to determine the reactivity and the chemical properties of potassium, sodium and lithium. We were given the apparatus and materials; which includes a crucible tong, a knife, filter papers, a gas jar filled with chlorine gas, a gas jar with gas jar spoon and a water basin.
First, was to tackle the aim. That's easily done.
Then, it's the hypothesis and the variables. Same.
Then came to the actual planning of the experiment. I was stunned.
I didn't know how the experiment was going to be set up and how I'm supposed to write the procedure for it. So, I just created my own experiment by using whatever that's given.
I drew a gas jar spoon with a black mass which I labeled as 'burning potassium' and the spoon was inserted into a gas jar filled with chlorine gas.
So, I wrote the procedure as:
- Set up the apparatus as shown above.
- Using a knife, cut the potassium into smaller pieces for faster reaction.
- Put the potassium piece into the gas jar spoon and light it with a splinter.
- Insert the gas jar spoon into the gas jar filled with chlorine gas immediately.
Put the gas jar into a basin filled with water(I'm glad it cut this off!)- Observe the changes in the gas jar.
- Repeat steps 1-5 (6 became 5) by replacing potassium with sodium and lithium.
- Record the observations in the space provided.
- Cut the potassium into smaller pieces by using a knife.
- Put the potassium piece into the water basin filled with water.
- Observe the change.
- Repeat steps 1-3 by replacing potassium with sodium and lithium.
- Record the observations in the space provided.
Same thing with the water basin too. Since the other apparatus were already used, the only thing I could think of was to throw the potassium, sodium and lithium into the water, let it fizzle and hopes that it explodes. I'm still waiting for an experiment which I could see some exploding action...
The only thing I forgot to use is the filter paper; which I found out later is to rub off the layer of oil on the surface of the three metals. But hey, at least I got most of the things right...
This experiment was in Form 4's Chapter 4: The Periodic Table; under subtopic Chemical Properties of Group 1 metals.
'Cause the stupid teacher didn't teacher last year, I couldn't understand a single thing other than the neutron, proton and electron numbers; nucleon numbers and the octet-electron arrangement.
So I'm pretty glad that I could think of this in the exams. But I doubt that I'll be this lucky during the trials and the real examination.
Yeah, even if the holidays are starting soon (real soon!), I'll still have to work. I even have to attend tuition on my birthday, and it's ADD MATH class for 3 hours! What a way to celebrate.
I'm not so eager to drive; I don't want to be my sibs' chauffeur.
Okay, that's just how my hellish month of examination has come to an end.
(Technically, it hasn't ended yet; last paper is tomorrow, but whatever!)
Now, I'm off to watch CSI and munch away on my mom's Ribena Cheese cake!
It's healthy cause it's partly made out of yogurt instead of the full load of cream cheese- then it'll be really unhealthy. :D

Persona Dillema and Exam Hell
I got Persona 3!
At least I thought I had it. It couldn't work. My PS2 console didn't manage to read it!
*attempts to bash the game console but realizes that she won't be able to pay for repairs; sulks in the corner*
I really wanted to try it. It sounded so interesting when Jon illustrated the game through Facebook wall. *sigh*
Yeah, Physics was so-so. I could answer some of the questions, but not all of it.
I forgot about Hooke's Law, forces in equilibrium...I even forgot what I forgot.
Tomorrow is Chem; starting with paper II, like always. I told mom that I don't care about it anymore and will work harder for the trials. Planning to start as soon as the midyear holidays are here; but we all know that it's gonna fall through. Most of my plans do.
Which person in their right mind would study during the holidays; even after a really long, long drag?
SPM is going to be only two weeks, starting from Nov 12- Dec 6.
What's worst is...
Well, there is two ways of looking at this:
One (Positive): It isn't dragged long and it'll be over really quick. Fourteen days compared to a month? After that hellish 14 days, we'd finally be free from secondary school life!
Two (Negative): Those fourteen days would be spent worrying about the next paper and there isn't any buffer days in between. Did I mention that we'll be sitting in the exam hall even on a Saturday? (Hell yeah, it's large, bold and in red!)
Alrighty, I'll go read whatever I can for Chem tomorrow and hope that I'll barely pass it.

Failed Attempt to Study
Lookie here, a small glimpse into my room...
Yeah...a small tiny fraction of my room. Okay, not that tiny; my room ain't that big.
That's my com's sound system which I yanked away from my com and plugged into my MP3 (even if it's slightly larger than the more recent ones, I still love it. 20GB with 70 hrs playback, who doesn't?); a stack of revision books; stack of papers (or rather, notes); my pencil box; calculator; my fav magenta (not pink, magenta) mechanical pencil...and a can of Pocari Sweat.
Pocari Sweat...Another of those canned drinks that you don't see on the fridge of any grocery store. Got it from the Curve on Saturday (technically, it's from Cold Storage) for 2.20. Tastes like 100 Plus but slightly better. Why? Cause it's made in Japan. :P
Oh yeah, about me studying.
...First attempt was to memorize Chem. But half an hour of reading this...
That chapter was Salts. Double decomposition and neutralization isn't as easy as it seems; if you don't have a good teacher to guide you to understanding it. Way to go, my stupid chem teacher.
I'm REALLY glad that you TRANSFERRED AWAY!
I switched to Physics. A big thank you to my Physics tutor for making momentum, Bernoulli's principle, Archimedes's Principle and the pulley system much easier for me!
But when I got to electricity...
Sorry to those non-Astro subscribers though; I bet they'll air it on normal channels soon. (^_^)
It's about this guy, Chuck (the guy in the middle), who received an email from a former dormmate, Bryce (whom he hates for getting him kicked out of Stanford). When he opened the email, all of the government's secret got downloaded into his brain via images. So they sent two agents, Sara Walker (the only girl in the pic, duh) from the CIA and Sgt. John Casey from the NSA. Both of the agents have to protect Chuck because of the precious information withheld in his brain, so Sara poses as Chuck's girlfriend while Casey works undercover as a salesman at Buy More, which is where Chuck works as the guy who fixes computers.
I'm really looking forward to their next mission.
Next show that I'm catching is Season 4 of House.

Pshhh
I should really be studying right now, but I'm not.
I don't think my Physics tutor would be really happy to know that I've gotten THAT lazy, nor will my dad.
Downloaded a few songs which I've wanted to but never got to do it.
- Pockets Full of Sunshine by Natasha Beddingfield (LOVED it as soon as I heard it on American Idol)
- Everything by Micheal Buble (Dunno why I like this song, i just do)
- Love Song by Sara Bareilles
- Tear on My Guitar by Taylor Swift
As soon as I got home from that really pointless dinner, an idea popped into my head...
I took my computer sound system and moved it to my room!
LoL!
Tomorrow is a public holiday and like my previous post, I don't think I'll be doing any studying. So...My midterms are pretty much screwed. Woohooo~
I'll go back into my room and enjoy whatever time I have left till my parental units come upstairs and have me lower the volume.
Emoticon Fever with Onions
I've wasted two days on doing practically nothing.
I'm supposed to be like this...
But because of
I'm like this...
And tomorrow sure like this...
At night will be like this...
and this...
Tuesday morning...
Five minutes before Physics paper II starts...
Get the paper,
At 10.00 a.m,
Go home...
and

A second home to my work!
因为爱上了你
我学会了笑容的美妙,
我学会了悲伤的痛苦,
我学会了幸福的意识,
我学会了等待的烦恼。
寂寞和孤单的经验,
令我明白生活是无情的;
我永远都不会原谅你;
你把我的一切抢走了,
把我的希望扑灭了。
我是不会原谅你,
而且也不会放过你,
因为你走出那到门的那一天,
也把我的心给带走了。
我学会的一切...
经验的一切...
都是因为爱上了你。

Haha, I wrote this in my Facebook note last year. XD
Now there's two places that has it. :P
The pics are the finishing touches on it.
Me tardy
Whee...I've finally found those pics I've been hunting for! And some of the emoticons too!
Thanks to Starry Heavens Scanlation Group for giving me a hint, indirectly though.
Ahaha.
The day started out late. I woke up late; mom got home late and I had brunch late. When to math class late, got out of it late...
The day hasn't ended yet, so nothing much to update.
Yeah...Jon's busy at prom and post-prom. He's taking Cassie (not my Cassie; his, Cassie Hsu)
I guess I'll go back to studying.
New Skin!
Compared to the blogskin I found yesterday; this is much much better. Even though I'm not a great fan of the colour pink, the picture suits my personality, sorta.
I know, i know. It takes a long time to load, but the picture is simply...wow.
Anyways, I'm not gonna spend my whole time typing about the blogskin.
History was today; paper II from 7.30-10.00, paper I from 10.45-12.05.
I thought I was prepared, but one look at the essay part was enough for me to foresee my history grade: Don't expect an A1 this time.
To think that the teacher was nice to give the scope to study and I was hell bent on memorizing the ones that I thought I will do...GAHHH!
First question was indeed about Prophet Muhammad and his quest to spread Islam, but in secrecy; but that was only (a). There were two other questions:
(b) Why were the people of Mecca attracted to taking Islam as their faith
(c) Why were the Arabs against Islam
...As if I could remember what I read yesterday? Fortunately, my cerebrum seems to have recalled bits and pieces of that particular class last year and I was able to answer some of it. Miss Leong won't be happy.
We were required to do three out of five; with one down, I had another two to go.
There was this question about Tok Janggut and his story of how and why he started to rebel. Actually, I got one of the facts wrong. I wrote Kota Telemong in my essay. (It was supposed to be Pasir Puteh; Kota Lama belongs with Dato Maharaja Lela of Perak while Kuala Telemong belongs with Haji Abdul Rahman Limbong of Terengganu. I'm glad i didn't continue.
I wrote one paragraph and then looked at what I needed to answer for (b), which was to explain what role did the newspaper play on the issue of education during the 1930s. OMG, I didn't even study that at all! Scrapped that page off and did this instead;
(a) Explain why Western Imperialists were so keen on taking over the South-East Asian Countries.
(b) State the differences in the way of ruling before and during the British reign.
Third question was the worst one;
(a) Explain the difference between the executive (badan perlaksana) and the legislative (badan perundangan) bodies of the government.
(b) What are the conditions to fulfill if one intends to take part in the voting.
(c) Explain the voting process.
...
I screwed the first question up by writing only 3 sentences! GAWD, this is my worst one ever. Not only was I lacking in information in that area; I GOT THE WHOLE THING MIXED UP TOO! I switched executive with legislative!!! -________________-
The second question was doable.
But the third one was the one that made me feel like roadkill. I was memorizing it the whole night and then...I got two of the processes mixed up. =.=
The actual one was that the parties that are involved would be campaigning for 7-15 days before the Suruhanjaya Pilihan Raya (SPR) (Don't know the name in English though...) would announce the voting posts and the place where the counting would be done. I wrote it the other way round. That's 2 marks from 9. I think I'd lose more than that.
After recess, it was paper I; multiple choice questions. This was easy. I finished in around 10 mins. I think I have less than five mistakes.
It's always been like this; I don't need to study for multiple choice. One look at the question and I'd get the answer, most of the time. It's really weird though; I'm really absent-minded and scatterbrain. I don't even remember what I had for lunch yesterday. I wonder how my neurons work...
That's about it for today, or yesterday...Whatever.
It's 1:45 in the morning and I'm supposed to have gone to bed an hour ago.
Let's see what the morning brings.
Friday, May 16, 2008
>.<
Haha, I can't believe I actually went and found myself a nice template (nice to me :P), edited it and tagged my friends. Yeah, I'm still not done with my memorizing yet...and it's 2.10 in the morning now. -______________-
I guess I'll go memorize now before heading to bed. Or I can screw my midterm results and work harder for the next one, which is trials. o_O TRIALS!!!
My life is is SO over.

History Blues
To the cracks I see near the air conditioning unit,
GAWD...I swore to update my blog more often and I didn't do it. I kinda put it aside after having so many things going on with life.
Anyways, exams are here! Rather, it is ongoing; History is TOMORROW! *wide eye*
Even though the teacher was nice enough to give us to scope of questions, I still couldn't find the mood to study.
The essay questions I would be taking are:
1.Penyebaran Islam di Makkah (I still remember bits and pieces of it from the finals last year)
2. Penentangan Pemimpin Tempatan terhadap British (made a story out of it and tortured bro by asking him to listen; will do the same with Matt, my toy dog (yes, I own a toy dog; many in fact). I'll be taken as a psychopath if anyone sees it)
3. Pilihan raya.
My first attempt to study history was after reaching school. Took the Form 4 textbook out of my bag and tried reading it. Got to chapter 4 and fell asleep. Woke up when the teacher came into the class and tried again. Fell asleep after 5 minutes.
Woke up later for EST paper 2.
2nd attempt was during the car ride to Giant. Nothing went in.
Such a sad case, huh?
The whole afternoon was spent at Giant. It involved mom, a large cart of groceries (two months worth to be exact) and me feeling really sticky.
The electricity stopped again during the second half of the day in school. Geez, is the school that poor not to be able to pay for the electric bills?
Back at home, I fell asleep after taking a long and warm shower. Was woken up abruptly when bro came into the room and asked if he could have my hotdog.
I've been wondering about this for quite some time; do guys really have black holes for stomachs? I always hear them complaining about being hungry! Where does all the food go?
Watched the semi-finals of American Idol while munching on that hotdog of mine. I'm glad that Syesha got kicked off. I don't know why, but I just don't like her. Mom was glad that she's out. The two Davids are out to battle each other for the title.
I like David Cook...*drools* XD
He has the bad boy look that I like; so does Robert Downey Jr. of Iron Man. :X
Back to history. Now, I'll just have to memorize the whole voting process and I'm good to go. Yeah, there's this part of the structure question involving the pentadbiran negeri and persekutuan thingy...Guess I'll have to read up about that too. GAHHHHHH!
And I found out that my blog picture doesn't show. The background pic, I mean; I don't take pictures of myself in real life. Yeah, I'm that UGLY.
I could go blog skin hunting now...But any more procrastination on my studying would make me lose more sleep later. I'll just find one that I like and change it tomorrow then.
Feels less crappy; but crappy nonetheless,
Lyn.
